Clinical Operations

The FPP Office of Clinical Operations provides a variety of services to departments and faculty in support of their day to day practices.

Examples of services provided are:

  • Ambulatory Operations
    • Coordination of clinical competencies assessment (hands-on and online)
    • Manage MONA continuing education process for nursing contact hours
    • Schedules and conduct Emergency Response Drills
    • Work with Human Resources, Office of General Counsel, affiliated Hospitals,¬†and Departments on Advanced Practice Nurses and other Allied Health Professionals requirements and regulations
    • Maintenance of clinical policies and procedures
    • Communication of product recalls
    • Work with Employee Health and Departments to coordinate annual employee flu vaccination program
  • Scheduling
    • Assistance to providers and administrators in maximizing practice efficiency
    • Regular monitoring of patient access, referring physician and PCP documentation, and ambulatory appointment activity
  • Service Quality
    • Maintenance and communication of Professional Service Commitments
    • Coordination, day-to-day management, and reporting of results for patient satisfaction process
    • Assistance to Departments and affiliated Hospitals in management of Service Recovery
    • Coordination of School-wide Star Performer program
    • Design and deploy patient communication materials
  • Clinical Faculty and Staff Education and Training
    • Implementation of WUSM's cross-cultural education initiative
    • Coordination of the following classes:
      • Basic Life Support (CPR)
      • Moving to Excellence
      • Service Boosters
      • Clinical Skills Fair

In addition, the Office of Clinical Operations serves as liaison for the departments and faculty practices on operational issues with both BJH and SLCH.
